Lions Club of Panvel & Leo Club of Panvel 54th Mumbai Darshan Picnic – A Legacy of Service Lions Club of Panvel, in association with Leo Club of Panvel, successfully organized its 54th consecutive Mumbai Darshan Picnic for Adivasi children, continuing a proud legacy of service and commitment towards society. This noble activity was conducted under the dynamic leadership of Lion Surabhi Pendse, President, Lions Club of Panvel, and Leo Arushi Godbole, President, Leo Club of Panvel. A total of 52 students from Raigad Zilla Parishad School, Nitalas participated in this memorable educational tour. The picnic was organized with one bus, arranged from Karnala Sports, departing at 8:00 a.m. and safely returning at 7:00 p.m. The project was a twinning activity with Lions Club of Walkeshwar, a partnership that has been consistently maintained for the past 54 years, making it a truly historic and legacy project. The children visited iconic landmarks of Mumbai including Rani Chi Baug (Byculla Zoo), Gateway of India, and Nehru Planetarium, giving them a rare opportunity to experience the cultural, historical, and scientific richness of the city. Lions Club of Walkeshwar also thoughtfully arranged a delicious lunch for all the participating children as well as all Lions and Leo members, adding warmth and hospitality to the entire program. In addition, the Walkeshwar Club generously sponsored school bags along with complete accessories and morning kits for all participating children. The occasion was graced by Hon. Kaushalya Vikas Mantri Shri Mangal Prabhat Lodha and Smt. Manjuben Lodha, whose presence inspired all members and children alike. This project achieved a unique milestone by becoming the first and only Inter-District activity where two District Governors were present together: District A1 Governor – Lion Firoz Katrak District A4 Governor – Lion Sanjeev Suryavanshi A total of 20 Lions and Leo members actively participated and ensured the smooth execution of the program. Special appreciation goes to Lion Nagesh Deshmane, whose initiative and dedicated efforts played a key role in making this activity successful. The 54th Mumbai Darshan Picnic once again stands as a shining example of the Lions’ motto “We Serve”, reflecting continuity, collaboration, and compassion towards the underprivileged.
