17 Aug 2025

Monteria Village Khalapur Monsoon Trip: A Team Building Event Lions Club of Alibag's one-day monsoon trip went to Monteria Village near Karjat. Mountains on all sides, green thick trees, bubbling springs, the gentle splash of Puneri rain, a hazy atmosphere that gives a feeling of thick fog, stone carvings, caves, waterfalls, resources prepared for adventure sports that add to this natural beauty and, in addition to this, great hospitality! Everyone gathered near the RDCC main branch at exactly 7:45 in the morning. A nice AC bus started at exactly 7:00am. We reached the planned destination in just one and a half to two hours. We entered at 9:00am. After everyone safely kept their bags in a room, a band was tied on each of their hands. Everyone started moving forward, ticking a frog like they used to get on their childhood pilgrimages. There were different types of menus for breakfast. From misalpav to utappa and cashew nuts to fruit salad. After this, all the heroes got ready for various rides. After getting complete information about safety including helmets, hand gloves, they went through various challenging adventures like various hurdles, rope cycling, boating, magic experiments, puppet show of Kalsutri dolls, a village with twelve balutedars, where they got the opportunity to see various professionals and the intricacies of their business from pottery, weaving, embroidery on freight machines, to hairdressing. Since things like goti soda, golo that evoke childhood memories were part of their free coupons, everyone enjoyed them. By then it was time for hunger. The steps turned there again. They had a vegetarian meal with various menus. After that, they again visited the cowshed of Gir cows and gathered the necessary information. It was learned that pure ghee made from this milk is available for sale for Rs. 2400/- per kg. Rain dance, EV vehicle, and tractor rides were definitely a different kind of fun. The guide was with us. He brought everyone together and took them to the field for a traditional games competition. The games that occupied their entire childhood, such as spinning a whirlwind and tug-of-war, were not only participated by sixty-six-year-old youth for twenty-eight years, but also won the competition, which is special! Rohan Raikar won the competition in the whirlwind and Prakash Deshmukh won the competition in marbles and won the prize. Taking photographs, getting a little wet, and once again having bread butter and biscuits with tea and coffee, Rohan Raikar and President Pradeep Naik gave bites of feedback. The return journey began. Reached Alibag in two hours and was home by eight! Everyone cooperated to make this trip a success, which strengthened the bond of relationship between the Lions Club family, especially the new members, through a picnic. Especially under the excellent planning of First District Governor Lion Praveen Sarnaik, Rohan Patil, Rohan Raikar, Paresh Bhateja, Amogh Kinjawdekar, President Pradeep Naik, Secretary Mahesh Kavale, the enthusiastic participation of Avinash Raul, Mahendra Patil, Anil Agashe, Abhijit Amle, Deepak Patil, Bhagwan Malpani, Nitin Shedge, Sanjay Mali, Tushar Naik, Vikas Gharat, Rahul Patil, Niwas Patil, Ravi Soni, Anand Jain, Milind Magar, Ankita Patil, Aparna Patil, Janhavi Agashe, Meera Malpani, Manasi Kavale, Seema Shedge and Padmashree Chaugule.
