Eye Check-up, Cataract Diagnosis & Surgery Camp – Bhomoli

As part of October Service Week 2026, Lions Club of Alibag Poynad organized an Eye Check-up, Cataract Diagnosis & Surgery Camp on Friday, 2nd October 2026, at Bhomoli, Taluka Alibag, a remote and hilly area. The initiative aimed to bring essential eye-care services closer to residents of this geographically remote community and provide timely diagnosis and medical guidance. During the camp, a total of 91 citizens underwent comprehensive eye examinations. Following the screening, 15 patients were diagnosed with cataract and identified for further treatment. All identified patients will be provided free cataract surgery at the state-of-the-art hospital of Lions Health Foundation, Chondhi, Taluka Alibag, ensuring continuity of care beyond the screening camp. The activity was supported by 8 Lion Members and was conducted for the benefit of the local community. The total expenditure incurred for the activity was ₹7,800/-, with the club having a total membership of 32 members. The camp was organized on the occasion of the birthday of our Immediate Past President, Lion Gurunath Mali, and was conducted with his special support and cooperation.
