🪔 Happiness Through Service – Lions Club of Panvel Sargam 🌱 Greening Panvel, One Sapling at a Time Theme Line: Planting Today for a Greener Tomorrow 🏆 Activity Name: Tree Plantation Drive 📅 Date, Time & Venue: Tuesday, 5th August 2025 Location: Uran Naka, Panvel (In collaboration with Panvel Municipal Corporation – Udyan Vibhag) 📝 About the Event & Its Importance: Trees are the silent guardians of our planet — giving us clean air, shade, and life itself. In an era where urbanization threatens green cover, every tree planted is a pledge to protect our environment for generations to come. This Tree Plantation Drive was organized as a twinning activity between Lions Club of Panvel Sargam and Lions Club of Panvel, aiming to inspire the community towards environmental responsibility. By planting saplings with protective guards, we ensured that our contribution was not just symbolic, but a sustainable step towards a greener Panvel. 🤝 What We Did: Planted 15 healthy saplings at Uran Naka, Panvel. Installed tree guards to protect young plants from damage. Coordinated with Panvel Municipal Corporation – Udyan Vibhag for on-ground support. Engaged in awareness talks with passersby about tree care and environmental stewardship. 🌟 Special Guests & Support: DC Environment Committee Lion Murtuza Afsar – Sponsored all tree guards and guided the activity. Members of Lions Club of Panvel 🎁 What We Donated / Offered: 25 saplings with protective tree guards (Sponsored by DC Lion Murtuza Afsar). 💰 Cost of Project / Donations: Approx. ₹7,500 (Value of saplings & guards – sponsored). 🦁 Lions Involved in the Activity: Ln Premendra Bahira – President Ln Swati Godse Ln Sanjay Godse 🌟 Outcome: The sight of freshly planted saplings standing tall in protective guards was a visual reminder that small actions can create lasting change. Residents passing by expressed admiration, and many pledged to water and protect these trees. This act not only enhanced the green cover of Uran Naka but also deepened the bonds of fellowship between Lions Clubs working towards a shared environmental goal. 🙏 A Note of Gratitude: Our heartfelt thanks to DC Environment Committee Lion Murtuza Afsar for sponsoring the tree guards and guiding us throughout.
