District Zone Badminton Championships 2026 Date: Saturday, 1 August 2026\nTime: 10:00 a.m. onwards\nVenue: Navi Mumbai Sports Association, Vashi – International Standard Badminton Court\nOrganised by: District Chairperson, Sports MJF Lion Vijay Patil\nParticipants: Lions Clubs – District Zone Report The District Zone Badminton Championships 2026 were organised on Saturday, 1 August 2026, at the Navi Mumbai Sports Association, Vashi, with the objective of promoting fitness, healthy living, sportsmanship and fellowship among Lions members. The championship was organised under the leadership of District Chairperson, Sports MJF Lion Vijay Patil. The event was exclusively conducted for Lions members, providing them with an excellent opportunity to stay physically active while strengthening fellowship and team spirit. The matches were conducted on an international-standard badminton court and were supervised by a National-Level Referee, ensuring proper discipline and adherence to badminton standards. For safety and protection of the court, gum-sole shoes were compulsory for all participants. Team Format and Matches The participating zonal teams competed among themselves. Each team consisted of five compulsory players – 3 men and 2 women. Every team played three matches, comprising: 1. Men’s Doubles 2. Mixed Doubles 3. Women’s Singles The format provided every team member with an opportunity to participate and contribute to the overall performance of the team. Participation from Lions Club of Uran Gold The Lions Club of Uran Gold was represented by President Lion Rajendra Thakur and Secretary Lion Shreeyash Gharat. Both participated enthusiastically in the championship and thoroughly enjoyed the sporting experience. Their active participation reflected the true spirit of Lions Clubs—service, fellowship, fitness and healthy living. Their involvement also encouraged other members to participate actively in sports and maintain a healthy lifestyle.
