This year, Lions Club of Panvel Sargam took a unique step by organizing an E-Waste Collection Drive at the residence of Ln Omkar Khedkar. E-Waste is one of the fastest growing forms of pollution in the world. Discarded mobiles, chargers, wires, batteries, and gadgets not only clutter our homes but also release harmful toxins when dumped improperly. By collecting e-waste responsibly, we are protecting our soil, water, and air from irreversible damage — ensuring a cleaner, safer planet for the next generation. This initiative during Ganesh Festival reminded everyone that true worship of Lord Ganesha is also about removing the obstacles of pollution and waste from our society. 🤝 Lions Involved Ln Premendra Bahira – President Ln Mahendra Lohar Ln Omkar Khedkar – Host & Coordinator Ln Ashwini Khedkar 🌟 Highlights of the Drive 2 Days of Collection: Residents and community members contributed old electronics, gadgets, and accessories. Awareness Created: Conversations with neighbors and visitors highlighted why responsible disposal of e-waste is essential. Festival Spirit of Service: The drive beautifully merged tradition with social responsibility. 👥 Participation & Impact Community Beneficiaries: Households in Panvel locality who got an opportunity to safely discard harmful e-waste. Environmental Impact: Every single wire, battery, and broken gadget collected means one less toxin reaching our soil and rivers. Emotional Impact: The drive spread the message that “Protecting the environment is the truest form of service to God.” ⏳ Service Hours Total Lion Hours: 20+ Hours of planning, collection, and awareness. 🙏 Gratitude Special thanks to Ln Omkar & Ln Ashwini Khedkar for hosting this initiative at their residence.
